Funding for the equipment, adaptations and in work support that make a job workable, up to €25,000 for adaptations.

What it is
Practical supports to help a person with a disability get or keep a job, and to help their employer. It replaced the Reasonable Accommodation Fund and the Disability Awareness Support Scheme. It covers a Workplace Needs Assessment (up to €2,500), work equipment and assistive technology (up to €12,000), workplace adaptations (up to €25,000), an in-work support or job coach (up to €12,500 a year), sign language interpreting, a personal reader, and disability equality training for staff (up to €20,000).
Who can get it
- You have a disability and you are getting into work, or already in work and need support to stay there
- You or your employer need a workplace change, equipment or in work help for the job to work
- You are applying through the Department of Social Protection
- There are four strands: a workplace needs assessment up to €2,500, assistive equipment up to €12,000, workplace adaptations up to €25,000 and an in work support or job coach up to €12,500 a year.
- It replaced the Reasonable Accommodation Fund and the Disability Awareness Support Scheme, so older guidance you find online may use the old names.
- It supports the employer as well as the employee, which makes it an easier conversation to have at work than people expect.
