Independence charter
This site exists to help people claim what they are already owed. That only works if you can trust what it tells you. These are the rules I hold myself to, and I will not quietly change them.

For everyone, forever. There is no premium version, no paywall and no account you have to make.

Money never changes your answer.
The supports you are shown, and the order they are shown in, are decided by one thing: what fits the situation you described. Nobody can pay to be added to that list, to move up it, or to keep something else off it. That is the promise everything else here protects.

If money is involved, it says so.
Anything on this site that someone has paid for is labelled as paid, in plain words, and kept outside your answer rather than mixed into it. If you ever cannot tell whether something was paid for, I have got it wrong and I would like you to tell me.

Your details are never shared, sold or rented to anyone.
Not to a partner, not to a sponsor, not to a council, not to a company. Not for any amount of money. If you leave your email, it is used to tell you when grants change and for nothing else.

Everyone who pays towards this site is named here.
Openly, on this page, so you can see exactly who they are and make up your own mind. Whether that is a company supporting the running costs or anything else paid for, it is listed here, and this page is kept up to date.

A supporter gets no say over what the site tells you.
No influence over which supports appear, how they are worded or how they are ranked. None. That is a condition of supporting it.

Nothing paid for ever appears near a crisis.
If a message is about self-harm, abuse, a child at risk or not being able to feed a family, the reply is helplines and nothing else. No supporter's name, no paid mention, nothing. That is absolute and it is not open to negotiation with anyone who funds this.

Public bodies are not sponsors.
Bodies like SEAI, the HSE, Revenue, the Department of Social Protection and local councils appear all over this site because they run the schemes. That is the information, not an advert, and it does not change if one of them ever supports the site directly.

Every figure comes from an official source.
gov.ie, Revenue, the HSE, SEAI, Citizens Information and the bodies that run the schemes. If a figure cannot be verified on an official page, it does not go on the site. Nothing here is recalled from memory or taken from a news article.

When there is no help, the site says so.
Sometimes there genuinely is no support for a situation. You will be told that plainly rather than handed something that does not fit.

Mistakes get corrected in the open.
This site is run by one person and it will get things wrong. When it does, it is fixed and the correction stands. If you spot something, please tell me.
Who supports this site
Nobody, at the moment. This site is paid for by me, with help from people who have bought me a coffee. If that changes, the supporter will be named here before anything else changes.
Who runs it
My name is Daniel O'Hara. I am from Sligo. I built this after watching my own father ring round office after office trying to find out what he was entitled to.
