Can I get SEAI grants for an apartment?

Yes, apartments can get SEAI grants, but a few things work differently from a house. Work inside your own apartment is yours to arrange, while anything to the shared structure of the building involves the owners' management company.

What an individual owner can do

You can apply for grants for work within your own apartment, and the heat pump grant for an apartment is set at a lower amount than for a house (up to €4,500 to replace an existing heat pump, for example). Solar and insulation can also apply, though attic insulation is generally not relevant to most apartments.

Where the management company comes in

Anything to the shared parts of the building, the roof, external walls, common areas, involves the Owners' Management Company (OMC), not an individual owner. For a coordinated upgrade of the whole building, a One Stop Shop is the usual route, and note that commercial landlords are excluded from that route (private landlords and owner-occupiers are not).
