MyFutureFund (Auto-Enrolment Retirement Savings)

For 2026-2028: 1.5% of your pay from you, 1.5% from your employer, and a 0.5% top-up from the State. These rates rise in steps over 10 years to 6% employee, 6% employer and 2% State by 2035 onward.

What it is

Ireland's new pension auto-enrolment scheme, live since 1 January 2026. If you're aged 23 to 60, earning over €20,000 and not already paying into a workplace pension, you're automatically enrolled: you put in 1.5% of pay, your employer matches it, and the State tops up another 0.5%, rising in steps over 10 years to 6% plus 6% plus 2%. Over 800,000 people are already enrolled.

Do I need to apply for MyFutureFund?

No. If you meet the conditions, aged 23 to 60, earning €20,000 or more a year, and not already in a workplace pension, you are automatically enrolled and contributions start coming out of your pay.
