Insulation grants
Up to €2,000 for attic insulation, or up to €2,500 if you are a first-time buyer or on a qualifying welfare payment. Up to €8,000 for wall insulation.
What it is
Attic, cavity, internal and external wall insulation.
Who can get it
- You own the home you want to insulate
- You have grant approval from SEAI in place before any work starts
- You use an SEAI registered contractor, or have a One Stop Shop manage the job for you
Good to know
- Attic insulation is usually the most cost-effective upgrade. A house loses around 20 to 30% of its heat through the roof.
- There are three types of wall insulation: cavity, external and internal.
- If you have already had a grant for one type of wall insulation, you can now apply for a second wall measure.
- First-time buyers and homeowners on a qualifying welfare payment get a higher fixed amount for attic insulation. A higher cavity insulation grant is also available for those on qualifying welfare payments.
