How long is the Warmer Homes Scheme waiting list?
The Warmer Homes Scheme is free, but there is a long wait: SEAI says about 15 months from applying to being contacted by a contractor. Here is how the queue works and a way to get some of the work sooner without losing your place.

How the queue works
SEAI says applicants can currently expect to be contacted by a contractor about 15 months after applying. Applications are processed in the order they are received and you cannot move ahead in the queue. Under the scheme's Application Guidelines, homes built before 1993 with a BER of E, F or G are categorised as priority homes.
How to get insulation sooner
You do not have to sit and wait for the full Warmer Homes package. If you qualify for it, you can also apply directly for the individual attic or wall insulation grants yourself, and doing so does not lose your place on the Warmer Homes list. So you can get the attic done now (up to €2,500) and the walls (up to €2,300) while you wait for the rest. With these grants you pay for the works up front and the grant is refunded to you afterwards.
