What it is
Capital grants for sports clubs and community organisations to build or improve sports facilities and buy equipment. Up to €200,000 for facilities (less on a short lease) and up to €70,000 for equipment. It runs in rounds through the OSCAR system; the next round is being run as the Community Sport Facilities Fund.
Who can get it
- You are a not-for-profit sports club or community organisation (all income goes back into the organisation, not to owners)
- For the full facilities grant, you own the land outright or hold a lease of at least 15 years
- On a lease under 15 years you can still apply, but for up to €70,000 of capital works and only with the landlord's sign-off
- The maximum local grant rose to €200,000 (from €150,000), and the regional maximum to €500,000 (from €300,000).
- Clubs that do not own a facility can apply for an equipment-only grant of up to €70,000.
- It runs in rounds through the OSCAR online system, so you apply when a round is open rather than any time.
