What it is

Capital grants for sports clubs and community organisations to build or improve sports facilities and buy equipment. Up to €200,000 for facilities (less on a short lease) and up to €70,000 for equipment. It runs in rounds through the OSCAR system; the next round is being run as the Community Sport Facilities Fund.

How much can a club get from the Sports Capital Programme?

Up to €200,000 for a local facilities project, up to €500,000 for a regionally significant one, and up to €70,000 for equipment only.

Who can apply?

Not-for-profit sports clubs and community organisations. For the full facilities grant you need to own the land or hold a 15-year-plus lease.

Can we apply if we rent our pitch or hall?

Yes, but on a lease under 15 years you are limited to up to €70,000 of capital works, and your landlord has to sign off on it.

When can I apply?

It runs in rounds through the OSCAR system, so you apply when a round is open. Check the official page for the current round.
