What it is
A €2,000 SEAI voucher towards the cost of a high quality energy audit for a business or public body that uses less than 2.8 GWh of energy a year. You must spend at least €10,000 a year on energy at the site being audited. It is open all year until the annual budget runs out and there is no closing date. You get one voucher per applicant. It is not open to the residential sector.
Who can get it
- A business or public body in the public or private sector with average energy use under 2.8 GWh (10 TJ) a year from all sources
- Tax compliant and registered in the Republic of Ireland
- You spend at least €10,000 a year on energy at the site being audited. Transport energy is excluded and you need 12 months of bills
- You are a first-time applicant
- It is not open to the residential sector or to obligated entities and it cannot fund a mandatory audit
- The premises is occupied and not due to be demolished or re-purposed
- The voucher may cover all or part of the cost of the audit. SEAI's analysis is that an in-depth audit for a business spending up to €50,000 a year on energy is not likely to cost more than €2,000. Bigger spenders may have to top up and the auditor invoices you the difference.
- You get one voucher per applicant and it is valid for 8 months.
- It is open on a first come first served basis, subject to the annual budget caps. It has been open continuously since summer 2021 and there is no closing date.
