Last checked October 2026
What it is
A grant of up to 60% of the eligible cost of PTO shaft covers, with a maximum eligible cost of €100 per cover (excluding VAT) and up to four covers. You must have submitted a 2026 Basic Income Support for Sustainability (BISS) application. You must submit an Expression of Interest before you buy. Both the Expression of Interest window and claims for payment close on Friday 6 November 2026, so it only helps a farmer who can buy the covers and claim by then.
Who can get it
- You are a farmer who submitted a 2026 Basic Income Support for Sustainability (BISS) application
- The covers meet EN 12965:2019 and carry a visible CE mark. Your invoices or receipts must state that the covers meet EN 12965:2019.
- The covers must be new and fitted to a PTO-powered implement you control. They must be bought after you submit the Expression of Interest, and the invoices must be marked paid.
- Both the Expression of Interest window and claims for payment close on Friday 6 November 2026. You must submit the Expression of Interest, buy the covers and claim by then. The Minister can close the measure to new Expressions of Interest earlier than that date or reduce individual payments.
- You must submit the Expression of Interest before you buy the covers.
- This is a separate measure from the National Farm Safety Measures run in 2023, 2024 and 2025, so an earlier Expression of Interest does not carry over.
- The Department also publishes Terms and Conditions and a FAQ for the measure, so read them before you buy.
