What it is

Direct funding for Ireland's elite international athletes towards training and competition costs, from €18,000 to €40,000 a year depending on level. You are nominated through your sport's national governing body against strict performance criteria, so it is for athletes competing at European, World, Olympic or Paralympic level. There is no general grant for amateur or club-level athletes; a club can apply for facilities and equipment instead.
