What it is
Once-off HSE funding for community groups and voluntary organisations that provide health or social care services to the community, for example for people with a disability, older people, carers or disadvantaged groups. Between €300 and €10,000 for one-off projects: equipment and small fixtures and fittings such as hoists, tables and chairs, camps, classes, courses, personal development training, information or activity events and short-term or once-off respite care or a break for carers. It does not fund major ongoing spending like staff, running costs or capital funding. Nor does it fund a project you already get HSE or other State funding for. Public bodies, including the HSE, cannot apply. The 2026 round opened on 14 January and closed at midday on 13 February 2026. Applicants for 2026 were due to hear the outcome on 29 May 2026. The HSE publishes lists of the National Lottery grants it paid in each year from 2015 to 2024. If your project is not funded, the HSE points to the funding list for non-profits on wheel.ie.

How to apply
Fill in the HSE's National Lottery application form and send it to the local HSE office for the health region where the project will take place, following that office's own process. Send only one form per health region, with an Appendix 1 for each project in order of priority. You need project costs and quotes, any funding from the HSE, a State agency or public body in the last 3 years and last year's accounts certified by your chairperson. Incomplete or late applications or ones sent to the wrong office or in the wrong way, cannot be processed. The 2026 deadline was midday on 13 February 2026.
