What it is
A 100% grant to remediate a home structurally damaged by defective concrete blocks (mica or pyrite in the blocks themselves), up to an overall cap of €462,000 per home. Open to homeowners in Clare, Donegal, Limerick, Mayo and Sligo, for your principal private residence or a home you rent out that was registered with the RTB on or before 1 November 2021. The Housing Agency sets the grant for your home case by case. This is separate from the older Pyrite Remediation Scheme, which covers pyritic heave in the floor hardcore in the east of the country.
Who can get it
- Your home is in Clare, Donegal, Limerick, Mayo or Sligo
- It is your principal private residence, or a rental registered with the RTB on or before 1 November 2021
- The damage is caused by defective concrete blocks
- The grant covers 100% of the remediation cost, up to an overall cap of €462,000 per dwelling.
- The Housing Agency works the grant out house by house, so the amount depends on what your property actually needs.
- Rental properties can qualify, but only if they were registered with the RTB on or before 1 November 2021.
