Community Centre Investment Fund
Grants from €10,000 to €100,000 towards doing up a community centre, in two tiers: €10,000 to €25,000 for smaller works (95% funded) and €25,001 to €100,000 for larger projects (90% funded).

What it is
Capital grants of €10,000 to €100,000 to upgrade, refurbish and improve existing community centres.
Who can get it
- You are a not-for-profit community and voluntary organisation, established for at least two years before you apply, that owns the community centre or holds a lease or licence for it in your own name for at least 5 years (smaller tier) or 7 years (larger tier)
- The centre is an existing building, this fund is for upgrading and refurbishing, not building from scratch
- You can put up the match-funding share yourselves, 5% on the smaller tier or 10% on the larger tier. Other government or EU grants and in-kind contributions do not count towards it
- There are two tiers: Category 1 is €10,000 to €25,000 at 95% funding, Category 2 is €25,001 to €100,000 at 90% funding.
- You apply online through the MyPobal portal when a round is open. The Department of Rural and Community Development and the Gaeltacht funds it and Pobal issues the grant agreements to successful applicants.
- It covers works like insulation, heating, accessibility, kitchens, toilets and general refurbishment.
- The 2026 round was open on MyPobal from 29 May to 13 July 2026 and has closed. The Department has not announced a new round.
