Child Benefit
€140 a month for each child. Twins are paid at €210 each, other multiple births at €280 each.
What it is
Monthly payment for each child under 16, or under 19 if in full-time education or training.
Who can get it
- Normally paid to the child's mother or step-mother
- It can be paid to the father or step-father if the child does not live with the mother
- If the child is not living with or supported by a parent, the person caring for them can get it
- You meet the Habitual Residence Condition
Good to know
- Paid for each child under 16, or under 19 if they are in full-time education or training, or have a disability and cannot support themselves.
- There is also a one-off Newborn Baby Grant of €280 for a new baby, on top of the first month's payment.
- It is paid on the first Tuesday of every month.
